The spice spoons are 10 inches long. They are made from Walnut. The wood I use is from our woods. I shape them using the hatchet, saw, and draw knife. To make the bowl part of the spoon I use A hook knife, it is just a sharpened hook. The spoons are all hands sanded. I found the carving tools on Amazon. I recommend getting them from work sharp though, The tools come sharper. The wood that I use is firewood. It is usually walnut or maple. The spoons are meant for getting spices out of jars. They are treated with a food safe mineral oil.
Hi my name is Layton. I am 11 and in the 6th grade. This is my first year of homeschooling, because of the pandemic. I am hoping to sell enough wooden utensils to buy a drill press so I can keep making tools. I am planning to donate 10% of my sales to support Black Lives Matter.
I have recently made a backyard blacksmithing forge with a piece of old railroad track and a stump for my anvil. I am hoping to learn the ropes of medieval and modern blacksmithing during the pandemic.
I really like working with my hands. One of my favorite projects is a cabin I made with my cousins.
