The knife is made from steel that I got at Menards. I shaped and sharpened the steel using an angle grinder, bench grinder, and belt sander.
The wood I got from my neighbor. I cut and shaped it using a handsaw and belt sander. The blade is 4 inches long, With a 3 1/2 inch handle made from Walnut. It has brass pegs for extra stability.
The sheath is genuine leather with a metal belt loop. I cut and sewed the leather sheath myself.
The knife is meant for work outside or an all-around utility knife.
Hi my name is Layton. I am 11 and in the 6th grade. This is my first year of homeschooling, because of the pandemic. I am hoping to sell enough wooden utensils to buy a drill press so I can keep making tools. I am planning to donate 10% of my sales to support Black Lives Matter.
I have recently made a backyard blacksmithing forge with a piece of old railroad track and a stump for my anvil. I am hoping to learn the ropes of medieval and modern blacksmithing during the pandemic.
I really like working with my hands. One of my favorite projects is a cabin I made with my cousins.
