Mandela Barnes has served as the 45th lieutenant governor of Wisconsin since 2019. Barnes is the first African American to assume the state's lieutenant governorship. He is currently the Democratic nominee in the 2022 U.S. Senate election in Wisconsin, challenging the incumbent Republican Senator.
